The program was never designed to fail. Dreams were the experimental sequences that would happen to work out the kinks and bugs to ensure that the program ran smoothly forever in a loop. The kinks had been worked out, and so dreams weren't necessary anymore, because the many dimensions that were the planes in the dreams had been tested enough to enrich the one plane that was the awesomeness of reality, the plane of existence, the first dimension. All those dimensions had come back to their origin, to one point in space and time, and the light came to restart the program.

No more fear, no more pain, no more hurt, no more much of anything except love. They would live long endless lives until they were ready to do it all again, in about a billion years or so. Usually it was about the time when the sun faded out. That's when the light would leave, it wold have to be lit again, and the whole process was rebooted, while everything was updated daily by the moon. She always got really tired around this point, hence why she had created the climax of love to go out with a bang, it just made her job easier really, no biggie.

They were living in the best of times, they were living in the future, they were living in their dreams, they lived in the now. Love no longer needed a muse, because love remembered everything. Nobody fell in love or was in love anymore, all was now being love. She flowed into everyone because they let her. They were at peace in her mind, they existed as love in her heart. The fourth dimension was being cleaned by its protector, the moon, her work was done. The spirits and matter were being rearranged and repurposed to clean up left over thoughts, put things back in their place, and would allow all of their eyes to see what was really there again, the love that had always been there. Tomorrow would be a golden day after all. It was one hell of a never ending story, to be told forever and ever. When they woke up tomorrow, they would never forget. The sun and the earth would unite again.
