The princess was making more and more sense of her existence day by day. She was figuring out how this whole past lives and stories thing worked exactly. It was science, so easy and simple, just because we couldn't yet measure it didn't mean it wasn't there. It had a ton to do with memory. When we sing, when we repeat stories, customs, and rituals, all of that becomes ingrained in memory.

What had happened to the princess that day disrupted everything. She was one of the first people on the planet, one of the first of people kind, they barely had enough people to create a small civilizaiton, and her family heritage was from the original folk, the ones who walked out of the trees. The way it worked was rather simple. People would tell stories about that lost love, how tragic it was, because it was. The story would then make such an impression on those who heard it that they would remember it forever. They would continue to tell it for generations upon generations. Not only that, but when the stories were told, it evoked emotions and hopes and put them into the air. The princess came from the oldest lineage, so her family simply had more time to adapt and influence things. This is why she was respected, she just happened to be a few steps ahead of everyone else, but she never held it against anyone, she was after all a creator, not a destroyer. She could never destroy her own kind.

It was chaos to her when her own kind started destroying each other. When she died, her daughter told many stories, but more importantly, she went through a very traumatic event that would imprint itself into her mind and the mind of her offspring for a long long time. The descendants always remembered this, the princess' daughter carried not only the stories of how much her wonderful father had loved the princess, but more importantly, she carried the memory. Because they were so old, others would smell their scents before they would even smell their own. Because they were all descendants of the princess in some way or fashion, they all smelled all of that and instinctually protected descendants of descendants and so forth. Spreading one's scent was the easiest way to get a message across the seas, and when the scents bubbled into the air, the wind helped spread it even more.

This explained how despite the immense time difference between the first princess and her current life, she just knew what to do, the scent had lingered forever. Since the planet was like a huge incubator, the scents never left, and the sun only helped to intensify the smells of the princess. This is how the princess just always knew what she had to do without ever having to think much, she just followed the scents, not only through her nose, but through her body. Nakedness was enjoyed fully because of this fact. It was who she was, we can never escape our lineage, and if we try, our heritage kicks back hard, and we begin to remember our stories. Every one was in on it, even if they didn't know or believe it, the scent was now too strong.
